Peter Parker is back to face new supervillains in this Spiderman sequel –
releasing on May 1, courtesy a mystery company called Oscorp. Besides
the usual cast of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, you will see Jamie
Foxx as the evil Electro and Dane DeHaan as the Green Goblin.
2. Neighbors
To us at MensXP, any movie with Seth Rogen in it is a must-watch. And in
this one – set for a May 9 release, he plays a new dad who lives with
his family next to a frat house. He is pitted against frat boy Zac Efron
when living next door to each other poses some unexpected difficulties.
3. Kochadaiiyaan
Rajanikanth’s much-awaited ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ finally hits the theatres on
May 9. This animated period film, which also stars Deepika Padukone,
will have Rajanikanth playing three lead roles. This movie is going to
be simultaneously released worldwide in more than eight languages.
4. Hawaa Hawaai
From the man who gave us ‘Stanley Ka Dabba’ and ‘Taare Zameen Par’
(uncredited) comes this new movie called ‘Hawaa Hawaai’, releasing on
May 9. A tribute to people who dare to dream, ‘Hawaa Hawaai’ has Saqib
Saleem playing a skating coach who trains his protégé, played by Partho
Gupte.
5. Vishwaroopam 2
Another Tamil movie that has been highly anticipated is ‘Vishwaroopam 2’
(May 9), or ‘Vishwaroop II’ in Hindi. Directed and written by Kamal
Haasan, who also plays the lead role in the movie, this sequel follows
from the original spy thriller film and also stars Rahul Bose, Shekhar
Kapur and Waheeda Rahman.
6. Godzilla
Hollywood will never tire of some movie ideas – and Godzilla is one of
them. This Gareth Edwards directorial venture is the fourth Godzilla
movie, releasing on May 16 – and is highly anticipated because this is
the first movie Bryan Cranston will be appearing in after he became
popular as Walter White in the show ‘Breaking Bad’.
7. X-Men: Days of Future Past
Probably the most awaited movie of this month, ‘X-Men: Days of Future
Past’ releases on May 23. Whenever an ‘X-Men’ movie releases, fans
always discuss how epic it is going to be. However, this one will truly
be the mother of epicness – with Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy AND
Sir Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, as well as all the other X-Men
getting together to battle it out against extinction of the mutant race.
8. Heropanti
Tiger Shroff has a lot of critics to prove wrong on May 23 – when
‘Heropanti’, his debut movie, releases. A romantic action movie about
girl-meets-boy, fall in love, girl’s father opposes and hero has to
battle a thousand other odds to get to his love, ‘Heropanti’ will also
star newbie Kriti Sanon, Sandeepa Dhar, Vikram Singh and Shireesh
Sharma.
9. The Xpose
If you missed the chance to watch ‘The Great Gatsby’, you can go watch
this cheap Indian rip-off (stylistically). Himesh Reshammiya is back
with this period thriller – and who should be making a debut in
Bollywood with this one but Yo Yo Honey Singh? This is one of those
movies that you may love or hate, but you definitely cannot ignore. ‘The
Xpose’ hits theatres on May 23.
10. Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi
The last week of May does not have any promising movies set for release –
however ‘Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi’ may just be worth a watch. The
movie is about a boy who has nothing going for him, but has big plans of
becoming a restaurateur. Starring Siddharth Gupta and Simran Kaur
Mundi, this comedy film releases on May 30 and is just the breezy stuff
that can make for a good summer watch.
